1999 December: Toyota au introduced the option of a turbocharged diesel engine for the 2000 model year Toyota Hilux 4WD. The 3-litre, 4-cylinder 1KZ-TE motor delivers 85kW of power at 3600rpm and 295Nm of torque at 2400rpm.
